Default painting chrome bumpers?

Just wondering if it is a procedure that is done? removing the chrome and painting the bumpers body color or black?

if so, is it a high priced mod?

So i didnt paint my bumpers but i Rhino lined them. Its a hell out alot better then painting them and it last longer then paint. All you gotta do its bring your bumpers with no plastic crap on them to anybody that does sandblasting. I brought mine to a guy that does head stones. He charged me about 50 bucks for both bumpers. I know paint looks nice but Rhino line looks sick. I have some pics in my profile incase you wanna see how it turns out.
