Question Does 24V = Common Rail?

I was pokin around under the hood yesterday and noticed that my engine has a 24V valve cover on the top.

Is a 24V a common rail, or did someone switch my engine on me in the truck? :/

All common rail Cummins are 24 valve, but not all 24-valve are high pressure common rail. Yours is both. The 2nd gen 24-valve engines aren't.

Your truck has a VP44 fuel injection pump, which runs at a low pressure. The HPCR uses a CP3 fuel injection pump, which pushes fuel to the injectors up to about 30,000 psi.
