First below 40 degree and very rainy weekend combo in Denver, plugged in the block heater Saturday night. Sunday morning got my first warning light (check gauges light) and got the codes on my completely stock 2006 CTD w 106K:

P0071 - Ambient Temperature Sensor Performance / Rationality
P0111 - Intake Air / Charge Temperature Sensor Performance / Rationality
P0514 - Battery Temperature Sensor Performance / Rationality

Thinking it is odd to get 3 sensor codes all at one, timing with first wet/cold weather of season is suspicious. Temp sensor on interior display appears accurate, if occasionally wonky. Was planning to have someone reset the warning and see if it appears again before getting my hands dirty.

Any thoughts from the experts out there?

I think I'd go ahead and disconnect the battery and reset the ecu, see if the codes come back

Seems odd that you popped 3 temp related codes at the same time----maybe just a fluke

 

I moved this to the Diesel section for more detailed responses.

 

Buddy plugged in his super code reader and cleared the codes. We'll see if they re-appear or it was just a fluke. I'm betting on fluke-age.

 

Are you still on your original batteries? I know I'm getting a couple of codes every now and then. One is powerdown data loss and the other is a skim key code. I have an early 07 with the original batteries, but I don't think they are going to last much longer.
