Default Fuel filter

2005 Ram 2500 diesel
I have been using the same fuel filter form autozone for several years now.

When I changed the fuel filter last weekend the new filter is a smaller diameter and does not snap into the fuel filter cap. The part number on the old filter and new filter are the same, but the new filter is smaller. Will the smaller filter work? Do I need to buy a MOPAR filter from the dealer?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

THANKS

Default

I personally run the Fleetguard filter, FS19800 I believe is the number. Sourced from the local Cummins shop. Cheaper than the Mopar labeled filter.
