MPG 2011 6,7 HO with 4.10 axle
Just wondering what MPG all of you get with your 2011 6,7 HO with a 4.10 axle. I just got this truck new 2 month ago, I was looking for a 3,23 or 3,73 axle but the only truck the dealers found was one with a 4.10 which is a bit to torquy for my needs, but on the plus side, I got 15 000$ off which is quite significant. My friend had a 2011 6.7 non HO with 3,23 axle and he gets 20-23 MPG highway and I get around 15 MPG. What mods can I make to get better millage.
Thanks

Your mileage sounds a little lighter than mine. Just picked up a holdover '11 HO in a Crew Cab 4x4 with 3.73. So far only 3200 miles, but got over 14mpg (hand calculated) on the highway towing a 6,500 lb trailer and 2500 lb in the box. Hoping it will get me to the 19-20mpg mark once it breaks in some more..

Your friend unfortunately has been puffin diesel fumes... 20-23mpg hasn't been acheivable since EPA screwed with diesel. I was hoping for similar number when I bought mine (06 5.9) and I'm content getting 18 on a good day. I also have a 4.10 rear end.
Mods: Cut the EPA crap out (DPF/EGR) if you can in your area.

mountaingade, is yours a srw or dually?
Your friend would have 3.42 gears, nothing lower available. And yeah, 20+ is wishful thinking on the 6.7's
I just rolled over 4000 miles on my dually during an 800 mile road trip running 70mph empty. I turned in 14.4 mpg. (hand calc'd) I have 3.73's.
Most guys are claiming around 18 highway for SRW trucks. From what I've read the 4.10's only cost about 1-2 mpg max. on the highway, less of a difference in town.
Jeff.
