2010 6.7L cummins drive line noise
i have a wierd niose comming from either the tran or rear end when i'm pulling a heavy load it almost sounds like the gears in the rear end are skipping and i get alot of vibration in the truck. i also get alot of that vibration in the truck when i'm not pulling but it doesnt happen as much.
i'm a first time diesel owner so havent had any expierence with these trucks till now. has anyone had this issue or know what might be happening so i know what to have a look at.
thw truck is a 2010 dodge mega cab 3500 srw, 35" tire and a H&S programmer.
thanks

diesel 2010; I really have no idea what the "skipping" might be. I'm suspecting the vibration and possibly the skipping is in the trans. Very possibly the overdrives in the trans. This is going by the experiences of others on various cummins forums. The 68rfe trans doesn't like a lot of power going through the overdrives, especially when towing.
Theres a guy over on www.cumminsforum.com, trans engineer. He's a dodge engineer for this trans. I'll bet he can point you in the right direction, if it is a trans issue.
Jeff.

Well I feel so dumb turns out one of my exhaust manifolds was a little loose and the noise was the gasket wistleing I tightened it up and truck runs perfect... Feeewwwww got a little worried there...
