so i put a superchip 3805 on my 02 runs good but when i run a diagnostic test on it its coming up as a timing ctrl circ error code #po216 so i took it back to stock tune the code was not there any more,i put the tune back on to the truck and it still did not come back up when i read the diagnostic test. could this be because the injection pump needs to be adjustet? if so how do you adjust it and how do you know how much adjust it. PLEASE HELP!!!

 

Been a while since I had my '00 or '01 trucks but from what i remember there is no adjustment you can do on them. Aside from physically pulling the pump out and re-installing it out of time. All the timing is done with the electronics and is internal. Further, timing codes with the vp-44 was an indication of a failing pump.

it did not start doing this till i put the tuner on the truck could the extra amount of fuel being pushed cause this code to be thrown?

 

That's a death code for the VP-44. You probably have a dead lift pump as well. Get a fuel pressure gauge on the low pressure side. You should have 10-15 psi.

 

Could be the pump was on the edge. Adding the tuner pushed the timing (or some other parameter) out of tolerance.
