Default Whats the difference 3500/2500?

I have a 2006 3500 6 speed 4x4 Megacab loaded Laramie. I have found exactly the same truck in a 2500 with an auto. I need another truck and am not looking to replace my one ton. What is the difference between these trucks? Thanks

assuming there both SRW, the only difference is two extra leafs in the rear of the 3500, and sometimes clearence lights, thats about it

3500 has overload springs and a higher Gross vehicle weight.

in recent years im sure the rear springs is the only difference. well and the higher price tag. i think this rule of thumb goes for dodge and ford. years ago there was more difference like axles, springs and tcase.
