Howdy all, ive been looking for an upgrade to my aging 6.5td. I came ac ross an 04 3500 SRW, 6spd QC, LWB with 369k for $9500. Puts out a decent smoke screen on startup but clears up significantly and blows white smoke on acceleration after it warms up a bit. There is also some white smoke out the breather tube on the bottom. I didnt get the truck up to opereting temp on the test drive, but it idles smooth and didnt have a problem breaking traction when you give it some gas. It was below freezing when we cranked it up w/o being plugged in so i know that wasnt ideal conditions. Im just trying to get as many opinions about the truckas i can. If i can get this for bottom dollar put a little bit of time and elbow grease in it witha good tune up, i know ill have a real truck then. What should i be expecting to get into with that high mileage on the engine assuming its all highway from towing a trailer over montana and north dakota. Im not afraid of a lil work but i dont need to go through an entire rebuild. Is it worth the investment or should i walk away?

 

Personally. I dnt know anything bout the 6.5. But id say at that price for that many miles and that many miles on that year truck. 9500 way to much. Id pay maybe 6000 and thats here in california. But again. Thats my own personal opinion. Good luck
