Default Tires

Has anyone run the Cooper AT3's while towing? Need to replace stock Michelin MS's that have side wall cracks and wanted something with some more aggressive tread. MS tow great but suck on anything other than paved roads. Have checked reviews and AT3's seam to do great on and off road for a AT tire but specs show a 2 ply polyester side wall on the E rated tires. This has me worried they may walk in curves with a load on. My towing consist of a 10K 5th wheel camper with 1K hitch weight.

I bet the AT3's are the same as my Copper STT and have 3 ply sidewalls.

After reading every review I could find I decided to purchase the AT3's. 265/70/17 E and with limited miles this is only first impressions. First these hold the weight of the CTD really well, quite, great grip even in rain, and all at 60 psi. Rides and drives better than the straight {get stuck on spit} tread OE Mich ME they replaced and with a aggressive AT tread that looks more fitting of a 4X4. No roll of the side walls in curves so believe they will tow good when aired up to 80 psi, will have to wait for camping weather to find out for sure. Just over 900 for the set and 50K tread ware warranty, couldn't find any reason not to try them, time and miles will be the finial judge.

So what is your impression of the AT3's so far? I am thinking of putting them on my 2010 megacab 4x4. I want the 285/70 17s but tire store says 275 is the biggest I can go without rubbing. Anybody have some facts on this?
