Check to make sure the TCM wiring is intact - passenger side of the firewall, tucked down behind the tire well.

If it is still intact what else could be the problem? The CEL comes on along with the Trans temp light but my temp is normal. Could a bad alternator be messing with the computer on the truck making it throw codes that arent even a problem? Or could a bad battery be giving it trouble as well?

The batteries are known to cause weird problems when they start going bad, so a bad or weak battery is certainly a possibility. I don't know when they made the change but the newer trucks (maybe '10+?)are supposed to have upgraded batteries (similar to the odyssey agm), so maybe they won't be quite as problematic.

Also, I believe there was a problem with wire chaffing on some of the pre-2010 trucks. It didn't fall into the model year of truck I had so, I didn't read up on it much.

You can check on www.cumminsforum.com . That's where I saw someone talking about the wire chaffing issue.

Jeff.
