Lots of black smoke no power
Hello i have a 07 5.9 dodge 2500. After the engine gets warm it will blow lots of black smoke and lose all power. The truck will die. After it sits for a while you can start it back up and will do it all over again. Any help appreciated.
Sounds like you've got a major fuel delivery or turbo problem. I'd check your air filter, then pull the intake off the turbo and make sure the shaft doesn't have too much play, then start thinking about injector issues - perhaps you've got one that is sticking open (or more) or broken that is flooding out your engine. Check your oil and make sure it's not getting diluted by fuel. The injector harness runs through the valve cover gasket, maybe it's failing and causing an electrical issue with the injectors when everything expands with heat.
