Question swapping a gas over to diesel?

Im going to start off thst I have a 1994 dodge ram 1500 and im getting rid of it for a 1997 dodge ram 2500 cause its more than a great deal im getting. Im thinking about swapping the gas 360 for a 12 valve engine... If I do this what all would I have to buy and stuff to do this? Would I have to switch transmissions? And what would the total cost be if I already have the 12v engine?

Others more knowlegable than me will probably have a better responce but with the much lighter gas engine the front will be sprung lighter, you will need to use a transmission that is designed for the twelve valve. The driveline is probably not up to the added torque, same for differential I would think, you will need two type 27 batteries and the list goes on. Anything can be done if you through enough green paper at it or just find a good twelve valve in the market. Probably easier and likely cheaper unless you are going to do a halfassed job.

I can't picture a Cummins reman for $300 but if you did it right it would still be hard to come out IMO but you'll need to know much more to know with any certainty. If it were me I would look for a decent 94-1998.5 twelve valve. In most cases they aren't that much I would think $7k-9.
