I have an 2003 with auto trans. I think it has the 47re but looking for parts and stuff online it shows 2003 having the 48re. And looking at some threads on here some say 47 and others say 48??? Factory specs online say it has the 47re.

Are there any visual indicators to know which one i have?

 

i believe they stopped puttin the 47re when they went to the 3rd gen and went to the 48re

 

Looks like the 47 and 48 have the same pressure solenoid which is what i am replacing so not a big deal. I think your right that its a 48 but Google gods failed with a clear answer for me on this one
