Cool Dodge injectors

I have a 2006 didge 2500 5.9 and i need an answer to a problem with my truck. Everyday when i start it for the first time it runs rough and white smoke. But once it warms a lil it goes away and runs fine. Just wondering what this could be and how to fix it. I think if its an injector it should do it all the time. But im no mechanic. Any help would be appreciated.

im guessing you have a diesel here, but there are a few things that can cause that, a bad injector could cause some cold start issues, as well as a low compression cylinder, or even bleed off of the fuel system letting air in the system, and a few other things but are less likely

Tres,

There was on service bulletin I could find on the issue and have posted it below. Not sure if your vehicle fits the build date criteria but just in case here it is.

NUMBER: 18-041-05
GROUP: Vehicle Performance
DATE: December 20, 2005

SUBJECT:
Flash: Engine Performance/White Smoke
OVERVIEW:
This bulletin involves programming the PCM (Cummins) with new software.
MODELS:
2006 DH/D1 Ram Truck Heavy Duty
NOTE: This bulletin applies to Ram trucks equipped with the 5.9L Cummins 24-valve
diesel engine (sales code ETH) built on or after June 9, 2005 through and
including November 8, 2005 (MDH 0609XX and 1108XX).

The vehicle operator may experience one or more of the following after the Repair
Procedure is performed:
· Reduced white smoke and improved engine performance after a cold start at
ambient temperatures below 15.5° C (60° F).
· Improved Oil Pressure Gauge Operation.

Tres,

The dealer would have to perform the update. It is not a recall but rather a TSB to help techs identify a potential fix for common problems. Hard to know if this is what is causing your issue without the problem first being diagnosed.
