New to the diesel section! Few questions...
check with jamie at cummins performance parts, or jacob at diesel auto power

there's some ideas for you though.
if you get the gauge I linked to, make sure you get a needle valve and chemical isolator with it. Would suggest calling Jamie and talking to him about it so he can make sure you get everything you need and maybe do a special deal for you.
Jamie and Jacob are both good guys with excellent customer service, and if you find a lower price out there (other than used on ebay) they will price match.
btw mechanical is the way to go for fuel pressure. they cost a little more than the electronic, but they last longer and are far more accurate.

Being that this pump is adjustable pressure, what would be the best PSI to set at Idle? 15 or up it a little?
Got the Raptor FFRP installed and a few observations if you go to install one of these.
First, the instructions show you a picture to mount it on the bracket closest to the block.
There would be no way to adjust fuel pressure or get the fuel line hose fitting on.
I called Air Dog and they confirmed that it needs to be mounted in the holes toward the fender well.
Second, the inlet banjo bolt sealing washers are way too thick. By the time you put them on, you might have 2 1/2 to 3 threads you can use. I could see the bolt or threads in pump getting stripped so I used the stock washers.
Other than those 2 items I noticed, the install took me about 1.5 hours. Space is a little tight but can be done.
Priming that pump I put the hose in a bowl, tapped the starter and pump started running, picked up fuel and came GUSHING out the hose! (there is going to be no question that this pump will provide enough flow!) It filled up the bowl and started spilling over so I snapped the hose on quickly!
After using a roll of paper towels to wipe up my spill in the engine compartment, I started engine and fired up extremely easy with not effort. I actually forgot for the wait to start light to go out but still fired up effortlessly. Puffed a little haze of black smoke until it got warmed up. Seems throttle is a bit more responsive but could just be me.
It definitely made things more smoother at idle and throughout the whole RPM range.
All in all I am pretty impressed with the Raptor FFRP and compared to the stock pump, it is night and day.
At least I have a piece of mind that I now have a dependable lift pump.
Thanks for all the help here!
