Default New 99' 2500 4x4 SB QC

I finally found a black one that's nice! One owner 79k and a beeuute. Spicer 70 rear, D60 front 4.10 gears. Only draw backs are standard interior and the 53 block. I have an 01 same truck with 3.55's, and it's loaded Laramie. 140k onit it and it has the Mexico block (strong) but it's my worst color, light silver. I think I'm going to swap interiors and rob the coil spring level kit off the silver, instead of painting it black. What do you guys think?

i think the other one doesn't have a D60 rear

no 98-02 cummins truck came wit ha D60... it'll either be a D70 or D80.

D70's are a weak rear end for a cummins. mild injectors and a fueling box are enough to explode a D70 rear end...Dana80's can hold up to quite a bit.

Dana, Spicer, tomayto, tomahto. I'd swap the motors, interior, and leveling kit if wanted, and then sell the silver one.

53 blocks will crack stock too... if they are going to crack, they are going to crack. not all of them crack. the ones that do crack will do so when you either add a ton of HP and push them hard doing sled pulling, or if you just have a stock motor and pull a heavy load through the mountains, or you run it hard on a cold engine.

My engine is a 53 block and I have modified it quite a bit, and its had a hard life pulling heavy gooseneck trailers. 226k miles on it and it still hasn't cracked on me.

Thats good to know. This truck is like it came off the showroom. 79k miles, one owner. He pulled a fifthwheel with it. I'm going to keep it.

the map sensor plug is slightly different.. otherwise you will have no worries making it through smog...

before i did major mods to my truck, I had a fueling box on it, and it had come from the previous owner with an intake tube/filter and straight piped exhaust. passed emissions with flying colors...I could have thrown injectors in it and STILL passed emissions.

stock these trucks run super clean...

you are allowed up to 40% opacity in the snap test. before injectors, twins, and 5" exhaust: my truck did 2% opacity with the fueling box turned to 0 and still straight piped. they didn't say a thing about it being straight piped.. LOT of room to play with there and still be legal.
