05 2500 won't start
It's 104 degrees and I went to start my truck and the dang thing just bucked and backfired and sounded like things were breaking. It ran just fine 2 days ago when parked.
Please help.
Please help.
Backfiring sounds like you have gasoline instead of diesel. Backfiring happens in gas engines when the spark timing is off. There is no spark on a diesel. Sounds bad to me but not the end of the world. Did you just fill up before you parked? If gas was mixed with the diesel that could be your problem. I would take a sample of the fuel and get it tested somewhere to get tested.
You could also pull the fuel line and put the pick up in a You would need to run a compression check if you get it running to check for damage. If the compression is low pull the head and get it checked. If it is good pull the pistins from any cylinder that had low compression and replace the rings and re-hohn the cylinder. You do not need a shop to do it. You can get the tool at an auto parts store and use a drill. You would just need gaskets and the rings.
You also should drop the oil pan and look for peices of metal or a spun bearing.
