Default Air intake horn

Does an air intake horn provide any advantage over the stock cast horn?
They boast they lower EGT's better throttle response, etc.

Maybe jigabop can chime in on this!

With stock turbo and just a Superchips flash, probably not. Start dumping more fuel and upping the boost a bit and it'll help get more air in.

I would think a ported exhaust manifold would help more.

depends on what year series...

3rd gen and later: yes an aftermarket horn is better than stock 3rd-4th gen horns.
2nd gen 24v: no. you might see a very slight improvement aftermarket vs stock, but nothing significant enough to justify the cost. 2nd gen 24v horns actually flow a LOT more (as in about double the flow) than 3rd gen and later intake horns...

3rd gens actually have to go to a 2nd gen 24v intake horn, or aftermarket to run twins...

the limiting exhaust flow on the 24v's is the exhaust manifold and turbo... I think I read somewhere that the stock intake AND EXHAUST on the 24v's can handle up to 450 hp.. save your money for a new transmission
