Default 04.5 2500 14.5 mpg highway?

I just bought an 04.5 2500 with the 5.9L HO. On the overhead console put 60 miles on her today on the highway and it shows the economy avg as 14.5. It's got the edge CTS but i was driving with it on stage 1 which is the economy stage, and kept a steady foot, wasn't driving aggressive, just cruising along at 70-75 mpg. Is the overhead console wrong because i know on the highway i should be getting low 20's for mpg. Thoughts?

what rpm were you at and what gears do you have? I know that if you are too high in the rpms you wont get good fuel economy

My 2004.5 at best gets 14 on the road empty but pulling our 8k toy hauler @65mph gets 10-11, which is good enough for me
