5.9 wont start! 2005 ram 2500
This truck runs veggie oil ( or diesel. Flip a switch get SVO, flip it back, get diesel)... Has for years and years and years, no problems ever. Recently, It started acting up ( NO power AT ALL. If its running, its shaking really really bad. If you floor the accelerator, it accelerates slower than a turtle. It wont get above 50-60 on a good day. Forgot towing stuff. Its impossible. LIterallty no power. My 3 cylinder Geo Metro has more power than this truck now, literally. So, i took it to a shop. He said the lift pump was bad. Put a new one in the tank and also replaced filter in bowl. didnt fix a damn thing. In fact, the problem got worse. A LOT worse. Im pretty sure he used an aftermarket pump. Now, today i removed the filter cap to see how full the bowl was, it was hardly full. Maybe 2 inches of fuel. So, with the filter removed, I started the truck to see if it would refill at all. Oopps. It ran out of fuel and now wont start. The bowl will not fill up with fuel. I put the filter and cap back on and turned the key on and off about 40 times, and I heard the pump coming on. But the bowl still wont fill. So, i removed the feed line from the switch for the veggie oil and i see that fuel is coming out, but with hardly any pressure. If i could guess, id say maybe 10-20psi. Its about half the pressure of taking a ****. So, heres my questions. How do I get the bowl filled and why is my truck running so damn bad?
If your not getting fuel to the filter housing then you still have a fuel supply issue. Either the "new" lift pump is bad, wasnt hooked up right or possibly you lost a fuel line somewhere. IDK how you have your Aux SVO tank hooked up, but you might want to look at the connections and fitting for that.
