Cool heater problems

I hope this is the best place to post this question. I have a 2000 ram 2500 cummins. My heater resistor for the blower fan heated up and almost started a fire about six months ago. Replaced the resistor and everything was fine until a few days ago. It heated up
again and started smoking. So now the fan only works on hi. I bought another resistor but it also started getting hot so I unplugged it. Traced the wires and nothing seems to be touching or bare. Any ideas??

Thanks in advance.
