Default 08`Cummins 3500 - Should/Shouldn't Buy?

Hey guys....I'm currently looking at purchasing a stock 3500 cummins 6.7 diesel with approximately 68000 miles on it.....I've heard of emmisions problems and other little things with these beasts...anybody tell me problems i might or should expect with them...also should i go with a truck with or should i wait and buy a newer one?? Any help would be appreciated!

The newer the truck, the fewer issues... I'm not sure what they changed between 07/08 and 12/13, but it sounds like if you get a newer one you'll have fewer problems.

With the 08, you can probably look forward to $500 EGR cleanings and possibly a lot more for turbo replacements if they gum up. If you make it beyond your warranty and have to replace the EGR and DPF/Cat, be prepared for a $7k bill at least.
