Hello Gents, I have been having a problem with my engine oil vent blowing out oil. Its just enogh oil to make a mess and leave a few drops on the ground. Dodge has changed the timing cover and gasket and I guess the vents internal flap (they claimed in melted open). I do tow occasionally. Per Dodge, I have only used 75% plus of the trucks ability less than 1% of the time. So Im obviously not driving it too hard.
Any help would be much appreciated. Dodge has told me to live with it an have on another occasion said it is my Juice/Attitude.

is your PCV on the timing cover on the front of the motor?? (been a while since I've looked under the hood of a common rail)
if so, there is a TSB about relocating the breather tube and PCV to the tappet cover on the side of the motor...helps prevent oil from climbing up the timing gears and going out the PCV...

So we cannot link people to where information is? Yeah that's going to generate more traffic here...
My 6.7 had a closed system, with the vapors going through a filter under the valve cover cover, then it got sucked into the intake before the turbo inlet.
I've heard people recommend moving the breather to the top of the valve cover as it's the highest point.

Tie wrap a plastic coke bottle to the frame or else where and stick the breather pipe into the mouth of the bottle. If you feel that you are not getting enough venting then punch some holes into the top of the bottle.
