Hello all,
New to this forum. Owned original 01 Dakota then traded it in last July for 2010 Ram3500 Laramie / 6.7. I am from Winnipeg, Manitoba Canada.

A few questions please;
1. I asked all the Dodge dealers in Winnipeg about Syn oil grade and brand. One dealer said Mopar the rest said Shell. Half of the dealers said 15W/40, the other 5W/40.
- I am leaning towards 5W/40 because of our cold weather come Winter. What do you guys think, based on your trucks?
- I would also like to use Amsoil.
2. I don't haul stuff, I use my truck mostly in the city, but I do sometimes drive my truck on the Hway (USA) for 200-500k with no load. I might drive to NY to visit.
- when I do my oil change, should I be checking, changing some other parts? Do I have to check on my fuel filter, others?, air filter?
3. Also, I have read somewhere in this forum about Oil analysis - what can one benefit from it? Is it as simple as getting some oil from the truck and hand it in to get analyzed?
