Question 2005 with mods, value question

Subjective value question please. I am NOT an expert and would like opinions please.

I am looking at purchasing a 2005 diesel Ram Dually. Four door Crew Cab. 250,000 miles on the 6.whatever liter engine. The outside is mostly clean and the inside looks new.

It has a double disk heavy duty clutch. Six speed. It has a gravity fed extra fuel tank in the bed. The exhaust has some kind of kit that removed the Cat converter. A programmable chip set on economy mode, and when you punch the throttle, no black smoke is generated. Some kind of cold air induction system upgrade. Fifth wheel. Long bed.

I will get all the specific information tomorrow but would like some thoughts on these style of mods, are they worth it, etc. etc. etc.

The owner was using it to pull hot shot loads and says, with a heavy load, he would get 14mpg. No load was 21mpg on the highway.

$17,500

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Sincerely
David

programmer come with it? (doesn't add to the value of the truck)

pricing sounds about normal though as long as there are no mechanical problems and the interior and body are in great shape.

engine size is 5.9L btw... 6.7L didn't come out till 07.5

Default 2007

Oops. Sorry. Yes it is a 2007. Not a 2005.

The seller made it a point to say the modifications made the 6.7 an engine worth having and almost as good as the one it replaced.

Thanks for catching that

David

ah so its not a cat delete, it's a DPF delete with a delete programmer, and probably has the EGR cooler bypass or at least electronically disabled egr...

well in that case the deal might be better...

and yes the 6.7L is a good motor IF the emissions garbage is deleted.
