Is a programmer a good idea. I pull a work trailer that weights 4700 Lbs. If so is a Smarty Jr. a good one?

programmers are awesome for towing, power , mileage, but most of us in 4th gen here have gassers, ask this in the cummins section and you will get a better idea of which one to get

yes programmers are great, however you will probably want to find a delete programmer to get the most out of the truck, as well as a DPF/cat delete pipe.

get the delete programmer first before you install the delete pipe or the truck will throw codes.

 

If the trailer only weighs 4700 lbs and you have a Cummins, I don't really see the need in a tuner. Unless you want it for more power towing or not.

I don't even tow heavy and I added all kinds of power

sometimes it's just fun to have a grocery getter that can firmly plant you in your seat.
