Which tuner?
I have a 2006 dodge 2500 5.9 6 speed. I have a AEM brute force HD cold air intake with a 5" turbo back exhaust and a boost fooler. My truck is a toy hauler and I was wanting a programmer for smoke, mpg, and some speed. What do y'all recommend?
Is efi live a programmer or is it one where you send in your computer and they adjust for you then you put it back in? Do they have the 5 position switch for the cummins yet? I too have a 2006 and started thinking about efi live today. Also live in california. Anyone else use anything out here and how does it work with smog? Sorry about the quick threadjack
EFI-live is a programmer that a diesel shop can either sell you pre-made tunes for, or you can buy the full feature programmer, and tweak your ecm software yourself via a PC, and then flash your new tune to your truck.
You probably want the cheaper one that a shop has already pre-programed as that is already tested and proven tuning. they usually have several power levels.
as for smog, I assume you mean going through emissions?
if so, you re-flash back to stock, take emissions, then re-flash the power tunes back on again!
