Default speed sensor driver side

My 2001; Ram Quadcab; Cummins is giving the error code for a bad speed sensor on driver side front. I ordered the new speed sensor and a replacement screw for it.
Does the entire hub have to be removed....like my service station mechanic keeps warning me how much of a job it is.
Is this a huge job..
Or is there an issue with removing and changing this.speed sensor? I was told that the speed sensor being bad is why the dashboard BRAKE light is on.

I don't think you can remove the sensor with the hub installed. Not to bad of a job. But you may as well put a new hub in.
