Default Dpf 2010

Just got a used 2010 2500 6.7L diesel. Check engine light came on, took to dealership and they informed me that it had a few issues related to the DPF. They asked if I idle a lot and informed them that I just bought the truck, Wondering if 5/100,000 warranty would cover any repairs needed.

Also have been hearing a lot of talk about a DPF delete kit. Would like your take on this issue.

Welcome to Dodge Forum!

I moved your thread to the Cummins section to get more exposure. For anything not related to drive train, feel free to post in the 4th Gen section.

I doubt it, but you never know. If you're Canadian, you can still get delete kits and the programmers needed to avoid problems. If you're US, they're harder to come by. I'm not sure if SMARTY still offers a delete option.

Is the DPF clogged? Or just getting close? Go drive it, hard, with as heavy a load as you can find, for a half hour or more. Run the exhaust brake as often as you can.

I don't think the turbo and DPF clogging up is covered under warranty.
