Default exhaust

so I just put in a 4" downpipe that goes into a 5" aluminum pipe. no muffler just straight. and it is cut off underneath the bed close to the rear axle. iv noticed ever since I installed the exhaust
the temp. gauge has been fluctuating from 190 and up to 240
back and forth it goes while I'm driving. I'm not hauling anything it just goes up and down. I am no sure what is going on. anybody have an idea?
also if noticed sometimes the vents blow out some light mist/smoke
idk what is going on. help!

It has nothing to do with the exhaust. Its just a fluke you can look around that area for wires you might of snagged or something but you shouldnt of. The temp sensor is in the front of the engine on top by the thermostat. You can try replacing the sensor and see if that changes anything.. How does the rad look(side that faces the fan) Any oily gunk on it?

The other option is a sticking thermostat. You could pull it out and replace it. Those are the 2 cheapest parts to start with. I have a digital read out on my edge and it shows a little bit different than my dash so you cant always go by what the dash says either
