The other advantage of diesel is more consistent fuel use. I had a Chevy Suburban with a 350 V8 before I bought the Ram, I'd get 15MPG regular use and 7MPG towing. With the Ram I get 16MPG regular use and 13MPG while towing. Some diesels can get up to 21MPG but my truck has the lower ratio rear end which gives me more towing capacity at the expense of mileage.

When I bought my Ram, diesel fuel was $0.25 less a gallon than regular unleaded so it was a no brainer, but with diesel more expensive than gas you may only notice an advantage if you do a lot of towing.

Hi every one who responded to my question. We bought a 2005 Big Horn 3500 crew cab long bed w/116,000 miles. One owner all stock. Very, very well taken care of. We have all the maintenance records. Now just to have the B&W Ball installed, will do a brake flush and we see that at 120,000 miles needs Tranny check up.
Anything else I may need to know about 2005?

Congrats! At that mileage the engine is just broken in. The transmission and front end wearable components would be where I'd start. Then all fresh filters and fluids.
