I have a CEL for P0248, Waste gate control circuit. The PO said it came on when he cleaned the cold air intake filter and accidentally busted the sensor in this picture. Could this be causing my error code and if so, does anyone know what the name of this part is so i can order a new one?

 

That looks like some sort of intake air temp sensor. I doubt it would cause a wastegate control error.

I'd take a look at your wastegate and make sure it's working. What kind of boost pressures are you seeing?

 

I got under my truck this morning and discovered the two wires that connect to the wasre gate solenoid broke right where they attach to the solenoid. I might be able to solder them back on, but there is only a very short stub of wire coming from the solenoid. It will also be difficult to reach up into the tight space and solder the wire. Does anyone know how difficult is is to unscrew the solenoid without damaging it?

 

I unscrewed the solenoid with some channel pliars (came out with little effort) and soldered the two wires back in place. I reinstalled and cleared the CEL and everything seems to be working fine now. Woohoo!
