Default Questions Galore

Hi all,

My work/personal truck has been a 2007 1500 and it has served me well, even if only a 4.7. Now I'm looking to bump up to a new 2500 Cummins probably dressed as a Big Horn 4x4 Quad Cab. What to look out for? What to avoid?

And the big question is I'm from Central Indiana and curious if anyone else close knows a dealer that is a bit more lenient on EGR and DEF if any wiggle room at all.

IMO stay away from 2007.5 - 2009. 2010 was the first year of the h.o. engine. I have heard the 2013 and up had a good jump up on fuel mileage. The 13 and up also have 3.42 gear ratio. 3.73 is not available. In the 2500. Not sure about the 1 ton.

I'm looking at new as this will be the truck I run for 6-7 years averaging 40k a year in miles. I'm just unsure of all the newer emissions stuff and it effecting reliability and mpg's.

The 2013 and up run urea fluid, like everyone else. Rumor has it mileage's are up.
