A few days ago I lost all oil pressure in my 98.5 2500 5.9 24 valve. My truck was spewing oil out from my vacuum pump. I thought it needed a seal repair kit. I had no choice but to drive it to my garage. I got about a mile away from it and I could feel the ride begin to get rough and about that time, I stepped in the clutch and it died. I pulled it the rest of the way.
After I pulled it in and got it washed off, I took the pump out just to find a baseball sized hole in the side of it. I ordered a new pump but, will it even start again after the new pump and oil is put in?.

 

Try it and see. Only way to find out.
