Question Buying advise Please

Hey guys and perhaps gals, I need advise on a purchase. I am looking at a 2007, 3500, 6.7 eng,180,000 miles, 6 inch lift, fabricated flatbed (used as a mobile welding truck). automatic trans, everything is stock and has not been modified. The transmission has never been rebuilt.
I am going to test drive it this weekend. what are things I should look for?
He is asking 20,000 OBO, when I looked at KBB it is a little on the high side. This will be my first diesel purchase, I have a 5th wheel travel trailer that is built to be pulled with a 1/2 ton. I do it now with my 1500 HEMI but just with small hills gas mileage goes down to 6 MPG. I like to travel at least the speed limit. Anyway any information will be helpful. I am concerned about the mileage because I do want to travel with it so please I am all ears and Thank you!

07.5 was the first year of the 6.7. If you Google search you will see a ton of issues with them. Also 2010 they came with the H.O 6.7 more H.P. and torque.

I've seen early 4th Gens with 100 - 120k miles selling for under $20k in my area. I'd keep shopping...

Thank you for the information..... an update. I did drive the truck and I found out a little more and more from the owner as we rode along. Like the AC compressor is out, and a few other little things. I noticed a shutter about 7 to 10 MPH when taking off from a stop. It does have a lift and 35"tires but through talking with the owner it had 37" mud grip tires on it. At one point during the drive he told me to hammer on it to see if it did it again. Well I eased into it and it shuttered even worse. I said did you feel that and he looked at me and said yeah what was it? So needless to say I think I will pass on this one.

I have been on these forums and others and I use the search function but sometimes knowing what to search for makes searching quite a bit easier and less frustrating. I have already learned a lot more about the 6.7 so I am confident that I will find a great truck. A bunch of great information here that I will continue to dive into.
