Default turn signals

I have a 96 2500 4x4 x-cab and I had periodic turn signal failure and lately they have not worked at all. Brake lights and tail lamps are ok. I bypassed all trailer wiring with no avail. Doesnt seem to be 12 volts back there, obvioulsy. Is there a danger with getting into the steering column to check things out.

Default RE: turn signals

most vehicles use a turn signal relay. Check your owners manual for location and try to replace that. you can purchase them from any parts store (advanced auto, pep boys)
