The 12 Valve has 2 Valves per cylinder, and the 24 Valve has 4 Valves per cylinder. The 24V also has an electronic fuel pump, that provides for better control of the fuel delivery. The 24V is the more powerful engine and well worth every extra penny you would spend over the 12V, but the lift pump on the 12V is more reliable.

There's really not a lot of difference between the two. The 24V only has a few more horses, but the 12V is cheaper at gaining more horsepower. With $200, you can buy a fuel plate and gain 330 hp, but then you have to rebuild the transmission. Compare that to a chip for the 24V. It doesn't matter which one you get, you still got a cummins[sm=icon_cheers.gif]
