Default TOWING / HAUL

Does anyone know at what weight I should start using the Tow/Haul mode? I carry about 500 lbs of tools etc around at all times.
I realize that I get much better mileage when I am in this "mode" , but my next questions is till what Rpm / Speed should I use this mode. I have my 2005 - 2500 ctd lb for 6 months and loving it... 25000 miles later nothing but smiles
Anyone ?

I have an 1997 ram 1500 with 250,000 miles what runs like new.... had tranny / torque converter repaired at 110,000 , still driving on the same tranny but I never use the "overdrive" unless I go over 60Mph. and it seems to help?

Regards,

Mike

500 pounds is nothing. I would say if your pulling a car then I would think about it.
