WHAT TYPE OF OIL IS THE BEST TO USE? SYNTHETIC? HOW OFTEN DO YOU RECOMMEND THAT I CHANGE IT?

I put Rotella in mine also. It is a good engine oil and I change it ever 6,500-7,500 miles. But it just depends how much I pull(cattle, hay, people) but somewhere in there.

the only downside of rotella is the smell. but it burns away after a few thousand.

I personaly go about 8-9k or when the oil gets sooty. I use Delo400 with a Fleetguard stratopore filter. I am thinking about switching to synthetics at my next change.

I use the rotella, change my oil every 8 - 9 K but I drive only long distances for most of the time but I do pull a trailer every once in a while. I have to add about 500cc after 8000 miles or so but the truck is new ( 26,000 miles on it now )

Your right about the smell, although I only smell that when I just start it and let it run for a few minutes, after along drive its smells delicious[:@]
