Default Sure grip or not to sure grip

I'm helping a friend move his stuff. As payment he has offered up a sure grip unit as payment. As I have already found myself stuck in a couple of situations. As I have found out for myself this truck slips alot in wet weather especially when making right turns. So my question is. Am I asking for more trouble, or is this going to help? Am I going to find myself counter steering even more. The CTD's torque seems to kick in at low but accelerating speeds. I really think it will help but I'm wondering if the CTD will over power my efforts.
