2006 silencer ring
Yes that air intake kit is HUGE and really allowed the turbo to sing!!! Very easy to put together with good instruction. Should only take 40 minutes at most with no help or special tools. One work of advice the next to last step is the hardest which instructs you to put the entire system into place. Making the connection at the turbo was difficult due to the shear size and limited space you have to work with. Make sure your pre installed clamps are as loose as possible. I would recommend the system to anyone who has or is doing performance upgrades or if you truly want your truck to sound like a jet taking off remove the silencer ring prior to installation of the cold air kit.
I know the pic is dark, but this is my red neck BHAF
$45 spent at napa, 1/2 inch drill bit to re-locate the AIT and a long flat head screwdriver to pry the thing on. this thing should last me 10x as long as the stock air filter

Check out this link below. It should help with the silencer ring. As for the baffle in the intake hose, I can't help other than say throw it out and get the AFE stage II. I also understand the money issue so best of luck to whichever route you take.
