Default transmission upgrade

I INSTALLED A DOWNLOADER IN MY 03 DODGE CTD MANUAL COUPLE MONTHS AGO, NOW HAVE THE MONEY TO DO TRANSMISSIONS UPGRADES THEREBY I CAN TURN THE DOWNLOADER UP MORE. I HAVE BEEN READING THAT IF YOU ADD MORE THAN 80-100 HP YOU NEED TO DO SOME UPGRADES TO YOUR TRANSMISSION. WHAT KIND OF UPGRADES DO I NEED TO DO TO MY TRANSMISSION?

Default RE: transmission upgrade

well the first thing i would definatly do is put a new tourque converter in it one able to handle the added power. i would also think about instaling a bigger trans cooler and bigger pan. the other upgrades are all inside your transmition and include heavy duty bands and clutches and a new valve body that will increase line pressure

he's got a manual, not an auto

the best thing to do would be to check out South Bend Clutch. they have some that can take well over 1000hp and still not slip
