the engine itself has some nice sized coconuts down low to start with.

heck, I was able to get enough traction to pull a 30 foot maple out of the ground from the roots. I did it sled pull style, only used 2nd gear 4lo instead of 3rd 4lo

didnt want to launch myself across the street[8D]

Thanks for all the help.....As far as this "Mystery Oil" how significant is that?
I need this thing to last a long time, not like my '02 5.9magnum.

MMO acts like a lubricant with the Power service. PS does have lubricative properties, but the MMO just bumps that up. it isnt realy necessary to use it, however it did increase my mileage a little when used with Power Service.

I just want to make sure my CP3 and Injectors live a long happy well lubricated life

I got 14 at best the first few tanks. At 35,000 i'm up to a city average of almost 17, and 20 highway with the programmer on stock. This is with 3.73's, 4.10's will be slightly lower.
Compared to the highway best of 14 mpg I got with my 99 Ram 1500 318cid, I'm stylin now. And looking forward to 300,000+ miles without a rebuild. I had to rebuild my 99 at 60,000 becasue the rings were shot and I was burning a quart a tank of oil.
Do the math. How much per mile was it costing me to run gas compared to diesel? It pencils out....trust me!
Once you burn oil, you'll never go back to gas!!!!!!!!!!!!
Cheers
Mike

I get my PS and MMO at , of all places, W-mart. Or should I say I have my wife pick it up for me. You can also get it at most of the auto stores (O'Reillys, A-Zone etc.).

As far as the MPG's goes, in my '06 (3.73) I've been coming in at 19-20 (strickly higfhway) and 16.5 with a mix of city in there.

I just did a 300 mile round trip this Eastern Weekend and I averaged 19.8 mpg (at 73 mph) and I only have 1000 miles on her. Granted, I live in south Florida were all the roads are flat and mostly straight. Therefore, if it is true that the CTD gets better with age, then I should be in the mid twenties at 20000-30000 miles?

I would say the low 20's. it is rare to see a CTD above the mid 20's.

that is some good mileage though

thats good milage. i got about 12k miles on mine and at 70 i get about 18mpg. with a 4x4 you shouldnt get over 20 -21 mpg with 30k miles on it. i got 20.5 going 60 for about 300 miles and thats the best i ever seen out of it. i also have the edge attitude, intake and straight pipe and with these mods i got a little over 1.5 mpg better than stock, but every little bit helps and the power is crazy.

I'm new to this forum so forgive me If someone has already told you but you need to let the cummins Breath bro If your gettin that crappy of mileage! 5" exaust and k&n or similar air filter is a first step and a must You wont believe the difference! My best friend's stock 2006 3500 get's almost 18 pullin a trailer all he has atm is exaust and k&n filter! it's an automatic! fact is the more kool crap you put on your cummins the better mileage your gonna get! But before you put chip's and such on them remember they need to breath! and they need to be run hard no p***yfootin around! also something kool to give you some mileage is the fass system look it up! well worth it if you like to pull stuff!
