Default sideipes

so this is my first post here, ive got a 06 2500 megacab, ctd 6 speed. ive seen a few magazine articles with side pipes one said it was a gibson performance exhaust, on an 03 quad cab and another was an f250 with a warner's performance exhaust. i havent been able to find either of these products or any side pipes for the truck, does anyone know of anythign that might work. thanks

I don't think gibson makes side pipes. What you maybe saw was their swept side exhaust?

List of gibson products: http://www.gibsonperformance.com/exhaust.asp

Also, just some info...sidepipes aren't legal in a lot of areas. It can be like bolting on a cop magnet Just a warning. That's why you don't see a lot of exhaust companies with setups for it

I don't know of any states, at least in the West, that have a problem with side pipes. I've had side pipes on my PT Cruiser for over 5 years and have never had any cop say anything and I've driven in Calif. Wash, Oregon, Nevada, and Arizona. As to where to find them for the truck not a clue.

Hey Spitfyre, I'm looking to buy a Megacab this next year and have been looking for some information on what the gear ratios are for the 6 sp. Do you know what they are? Thanks

Be very careful where those pipes are routed and where they exit. The exhaust tempurature is hotter than non-turbo gas vehicles and the heat can destroy your tires if the exit is too close.

CaptKidd: If you post your gear ratio question in the general diesel section, it will be answered much faster.
