Default Drew's mix specifics...?

Could someone please explain the mix that Drew recommends in more detail? What produtcs am I buying, how much, when do I put them in, and where do i put them in? I am at about 900 miles right now, is it too early to go with the mix? I noticed many of you guys are using it now so if anyone or Drew himself could enlighten me, please do. Thanks

here is the companies website... http://www.powerservice.com/ (PSD) you can use either the grey or white bottle of PSD, mix 16~20 oz of PSD and ~8 oz of marvel mystery oil to a full tank of diesel. this gets most people 1~2 mpg better than without, some get 3 mpg. I personally get 1.5 mpg better. the motor runs smoother on it as well. both are there to prevent geling and also increase the cetane rating of the fuel... kinda like an octane booster for gassers...

hope this helps...

yes, it goes in the tank. what i'd do is buy a couple of the small bottles of PSD, use them up, then get the 3 qt larger bottle and re-fill the smaller ones as needed. that way you can mix the PSD & MMO in the same bottle to make it simpler.

the 1st time you use it you will notice within minutes that the motor is running smoother. I would say that your ok to start using "the mix" at 900 miles, on your next fillup... add the mix.

you can use it right off the lot.

all it is truly doing is #1, giving extra lubrication for the injector pump and injectors, #2, the higher cetane rateing gives better engine performance, and makes the diesel itself burn more effeciently, #3, the higher cetane rateing and addatives in the mix keeps the carbon build-up to a minimum which will kill the injectors, which will keep the engine running smoother.

Ive crunched the numbers and with the nearly solid 3mpg more I get the mix I use has payed for itself and then some. the only thing is some people dont have as good of numbers as I do, I'm one of the lucky ones, it works good for some, and others it doesnt, it is a crap shoot.

I just visited the PSD web site and I saw a lot of white bottles... Can anyone be a little more specific (Drew or Steve) as to which PSD I am going after? Thanks.

Doug

the white bottle has anti gelling properties for when it gets cold enough for diesel to do just that, and also raises the cetane rateing of the fuel 4 points.

the grey bottle does not have the anti-gell in it, but it does raise the cetane level 6 points.

oh, one more thing, and this has been proven on other sites I frequent, if you think you have an injector knocking, pour a full shot of 32oz into a 1/8 tank of fuel and run the shot out of the engine, then fill up like normal, the knock will be gone

Not to be stupid and ask the same question again........but.........PSD has several white bottles that do different things.....Please, please be more specific.
