Default Lift Pump

I have a 2001 3/4 ton with 50K miles. I am working on my 3rd injection pump and my 4th lift pump. I just got the new injection and lift pumps last week. I have always had a fuel pressure gauge so I could tell when my lift pump was going south. The newest lift pump was the latest and greatest deal installed in the fuel tank. I am used to seeing the fuel pressure after the fuel filter at 15-16psi at idle and around 10-11 cruising unloaded. The new pump has pressures much lower. My question is this: does anyone know what the fuel pressure should be with the new style lift pump? I am seeing about 8 at idle and 6.5 cruising. WOT is down around 2. Help!

Default RE: Lift Pump

the one thing you need to be worried about is flow, you have the pressure there, and as long as the lift pump can maintain pressure to your VP44 your ok.

I will say the pressures are down, but what you need to tak into consideration is that instead of the pump being right next to the filter, it is in the tank and has to pressurize around 10 feet worth of hose.

if you feel flat spots of odd acceleration then I would be worried, keep an eye on it, you should be fine.
