Default 19.5 WHEELS

Ok does anyone have 19.5" wheels on their truck? I am considering getting a set but I want to know if the cost is worth it. I realize that you get double the tire life but you pay double the price. And do they cause any problems with the truck? I just want pros and cons. Thanks.

I'ts subjectiive, It depends on your reasons for doing it. If you want more weight carrying capability as was my case, there is no better choice if you get a reasonable buy n your wheel/tire combo. I paid 170 for the wheels and 220 for the tires each. plus labor to mount. I also used the new vision type 81's which may not fit your style. I now can according to the legal rating for the tiire and wheel combo, gross weigh 18K#...I dont of course but the OEM 17 michelins WERE overloaded in a SRW config. THe extra tire mailage is an added benefit and well as the choices for final drive Revs per mile ...with 245/70 bridgestone 250's i gained about 80 rpm or so at 60 MPH. there are no rubbing problems whatsover...with 245's on a stock 3500 1 ton....I'll try to include a pic so you can see for yourself.....

Where did you get the tires and wheels? The cheapest i have found was like 3200 for tires and wheels. Also can you send me a bigger pick b/c I can't tell much with that one b/c that is the same wheel I was looking at getting. Thanks alot.

I Have the Vision type 81 wheel. I'll include a pic. Rickson distributes them, but many ohters do as well. I got mine from GCR tire out of Sacramento CA. I have heard that Les Schwab even may sell them. You CAN get them from Rickson but the shipping can kill you. Many who feel the need for Forged wheels and have deep pockets will want the forged wheels for more money. At ..I have heard that since the forged wheels are scarce from time to time you may only be able to get the cast Visions occasionly. They fit my needs perfectley. Get the 19.5 tire of your choice...Don't be swayed by what some will try to sell you in a package. You CAN get a better buy if you shop..... have heard of prices from 200-280 for the wheels....

shop around..and ...remember the guy who may give you a hard time for buying a cheaper cast wheel will more than likley not want to support your diesel tab either....

Thanks man. I will definatley look around b/c I looked at Rickson first and they are very pricey. I also noticed that if you buy separately it is cheaper. My buddy bought a set of Alcoa aluminum and they were like 200 a piece so i don't guess that is too bad. Thanks for the input.
