Default thermostat question

I was wondering if it would benefit my ctd to change the thermostat out to one that will allow the enging to run cooler. Im in central texas and its pretty hot out here. I've notice the fan running alot these past few days. Anyways, I just wanted to get you guys opinion before I ask my dealer about it.

no, it realy wouldnt.

but what you can do is this. There is a modified CPS (crank possition sensor) made by ROKKteck that advances the timeing by 2*. some people have actualy reported their engine runs cooler, and the A/C actualy gets cooler. the only thing I can say is by advanceing the timeing the engine is becoming more thermaly efficient. oh, and these same people have experienced slightly better fuel mileage.

I dont have one, I have been putting off the idea of getting one for a while. the nice thing is it is a new CPS and the dealer wont know the difference
