oil change...
Steve, A guy that I work with has a 01 and swears by this stuff, claims he is getting 1.5 mpg better with it than with Dello 400. I am going to try it on my next change, cant hurt anything to try it. By the way, around here, the Rottela is about $1.50 cheaper than a good dino oil.

there is a hugh difference between the synth stuff & regular rotella... at walmar it's about double the cost of dino rotella. check your bottle before buying.
Someone else told me today i'd get 1~2 mpg better on the synth rotella... time will tell. well actually I should know by about Thur/Friday time frame. I will post back here when I know.

Rotella-S seems to be the least expensive synthetic at around $14 a gallon around here IMHO. Keep us posted Steve, I need some trustable input on synthetic's benefits. I'm interested in how it compares at analysis time with dino, and what kind of oil temp decreases it gives. Besides whether it runs smoother and helps mileage.

Mike, I dont have an oil temp guage so I cant give that data. I can already say the motor runs even smoother than it did prior to the synth swap. milage #'s I should have in about a week.
edit: also, with regards to the benifits... all I can say is that I have never had an internal engine problem since 1992 when I first switched to synthetics... they are the only way to go...
I also know that in a gasser turbo setup, you dont need to wait so long to let the turbo bearings cool because the the synth oil wont bake like the dino oil will. I still let mine cool to the 330's before shutting it down.
